  2. You’re Passionate About Your Work – You don’t just do your job for the paycheck. You genuinely care about the work you do and feel proud when you see the results of your hard work.
  3. You Enjoy Your Co-Workers – You’re not just putting up with your colleagues, you actually enjoy being around them. You consider them friends and look forward to collaborating with them.
  4. You’re Continuously Learning – You’re not content with just knowing the bare minimum to get by. You’re always seeking out new information and ways to improve your skills.
  5. You’re Proud of Your Company – You’re not just working for any ol’ company. You’re proud to represent your organization and believe in its mission.

Now, onto the signs you like your job.

  1. You’re Satisfied with Your Work – You don’t hate your job, but you don’t love it either. It’s just… fine. You’re content with what you do, but it’s not your passion.
  2. You’re Comfortable with Your Routine – You’ve got your routine down pat and know what’s expected of you. There’s not much that surprises you, but you’re okay with that.
  3. You Like Your Co-Workers – You don’t necessarily consider your colleagues your BFFs, but you don’t mind spending time with them either. You get along just fine.
  4. You’re Not Interested in Moving Up – You’re happy with your current position and don’t feel the need to climb the corporate ladder.
  5. You’re Not Complaining – Sure, your job has its downsides, but you’re not complaining about it every chance you get.

Finally, let’s talk about the signs you want to leave your job.

  1. You Dread Going to Work – The thought of going to work makes you want to curl up in a ball and hide under your covers.
  2. You’re Disinterested in Your Work – You’re not just dissatisfied with your job, you’re completely uninterested in it. You couldn’t care less about what you’re doing.
  3. You Don’t Like Your Co-Workers – You don’t just find your colleagues annoying; you actively dislike them. You don’t want to spend any more time with them than you absolutely have to. You leave immediately after work.
  4. You Don’t See Any Opportunities for Growth – You feel stuck in your current position and don’t see any opportunities for advancement or learning.
  5. You’re Complaining… A Lot – You’re always complaining about your job to anyone who will listen. You can’t stop thinking about how much you hate it.

Number 5 was the moment I knew. I was talking to my big sister and when she asked “how are you?” I complained about my job for 10-15 minutes before asking her “how are you?” She talked about every thing but her job. And when I said, “damn you never complain about her job,” she just shrugged and was like I like my job. But, there you have it, folks – the top five signs you know you love, like, or need to leave your job. Remember, life is too short to be unhappy in your career. So, whether it’s time to level up or move on pay attention.
